Discrimination against Disabled People

The fear that authorising and establishing PGD could lead to discrimination against disabled people (cf. e.g. Schockenhoff 2005) has also been voiced by associations for the disabled, e.g. the Federal Association “Lebenshilfe” for People with Mental Disabilities:

However, other participants in this discussion have argued that the introduction of PGD does not automatically encourage a questionable “perfectionist ideal of health”; cf. e.g. Gesang 2003.
