Conference Week “Bioeconomy“
Bioeconomy and Modern Biotechnologies. Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects
The term “bioeconomy“ refers to a new form of economic activity that should allow biological resources to be used more efficiently and sustainably. Against the background of a global security of food, energy and raw materials for present societies and future generations, bioeconomic measures and the application of modern biotechnologies are to be used in order to manage more sustainably and to develop novel products. To this end, research contributions from technology, ecology and economics will be more closely linked. During the conference week prepared by the DRZE and held in Bonn in September 2019, the young scientists discussed the following bioeconomic topics together with proven experts:
- Bioeconomy and land use / nature and environment
- Bioeconomy and nutrition
- Bioeconomy and ethics
- Bioeconomy and technology / governance
- Bioeconomy and energy / raw materials
- Bioeconomy and economy / market mechanisms
- Bioeconomy and Law / Regulation
